Images and Sounds: Presentations and Representations of the Islamic Civilization This course examines the way the Islamic civilization presents itself to the world and the way it is represented. We explore the images and sounds through the eyes and ears of Muslims from within and from without. We focus on the images and sounds that are exported, the images and the sounds that are imported, and the images and sounds that are manipulated. By looking at the various presentations and representations in the arts, film, and images, we explore the implicit and explicit messages from and to the Islamic world.
